Fastpass + making a return.. but is it what you remember?

As reported by Chip & Co, Fastpass + kiosks are being returned to locations in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT theme parks at the Walt Disney World resort over the weekend.

Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic shutting down operations at Walt Disney World, guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort were able to make up to 3 Fastpass + reservations at the park of their choice up to 60 days on advance. While many people loved this system, in many ways it resembles the current park system, since behaviorally, making fastpass reservations and park reservations essentially acts as a means for Walt Disney World to monitor expected crowds at any given park on any day.

As of this publication, no word has beem given regarding the return of the Fastpass + system, with some rumors circulating that Walt Disney World wi engine charging for access to Fastpass reservations in a system similar to the Max Pass system uses in Disneyland.

Another potential option could be a return to the past. With the new park reservation system being the primary means of crowd control in place now, it's possible that a return to Fastpass availability may be a first-come first-served situation, similar to the previous ticketed fastpass system in the early 2000's. Personally I preferred that system and hope to see a return to the flexibility it offered. I found myself exploring more and honestly getting to do more than with the current virtual Fastpass + system.

Only time will tell what awaits us, but once more news posts I'll be here talking about it!

As always if you are considering a Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation I'd love to help you and your family plan their next adventure!
