The Island - It Calls Me - Amelia Island
When the COVID-19 Pandemic first hit and travel as we knew it was little more than a hope and dream, my wife and I decided that we wanted to try and find a beach getaway that wasn't quite as touristy and crowded as the likes of Destin, FL or Panama City Beach, FL.
After doing some digging we stumbled upon Amelia Island, FL. It was just a couple of more hours away than PCB, seemed quiet, and like a place that we could vacation as a family while avoiding large crowds and potentially risking exposure to COVID-19.
Since then it's become a yearly pilgrimage for us. The mix of quaint and charming downtown area, with busy, but not crowded beaches, and a plethora of small rentals right on the sand dunes, it's truly a beach town unlike any others.
